Amazon Prime Video's 'Reacher' is based on which child book?

Jack Reacher is back on screen, this time played by Titans actor Alan Richson. The last time the book character of Lee Child appeared on screen, he was played by Tom Cruise - an actor many fans mocked for being a poor choice for the 6'5" Reacher.

Amazon Prime Video's 'Reacher' is based on which child book?

The new Amazon Prime Video version, however, is a much closer adaptation of the books Child has been publishing since 1997. The character has appeared in 26 novels from 1997's Killing Floor to 2021's Better Off Dead (with Number 27, No Plan B, coming out in October 2022)—not counting his appearances in several novels and short stories.

As such, there was plenty of material for Reacher's makers to choose from. Will they adapt the first book released and then just go in release order? Will they jump from book to book to follow the chronological order of the character? Or would they choose whichever book they wanted to adopt from the entire series, as did Jack Reacher and Jack Reacher: Never Go Back?
