Former Miss USA 2019 Chesley Crist battles depression, says mother: Former Miss USA Chesley Crist was battling high functioning depression, her mother said days after her death by suicide.
Chesley Crist, 30, was found dead in New York on January 30.
“Chesley led both a public and private life. In her personal life, she was dealing with high-functioning depression, which she hid from everyone — including me, her closest confidante — until long before her death,” April Simpkins said in an Instagram post on Wednesday.
"Chesley - to the world, you were a ball of sunshine wrapped in smiles. We talked, FaceTime or texted each other all day, every day. You were more than a daughter - you were my best friend."
