Ryan Reynolds has unveiled the inaugural snapshot of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in the highly anticipated Deadpool 3. The image, which Reynolds shared on his Instagram story, captures Deadpool and Wolverine striding together along a sandy trail. Jackman is portrayed with impressive physical prowess (attributable to dedicated training and a diet of ample chicken), and he showcases the signature Wolverine sideburns and hairstyle.
Deadpool 3 ushers in a dynamic partnership between Deadpool and Wolverine, while also welcoming back Jennifer Garner as Elektra from the films Daredevil and Elektra. Although images of Garner in her Elektra role are yet to be unveiled. Presently in production, Deadpool 3 is poised to offer further glimpses from its filming set.
Intriguingly, Jackman's Wolverine met his end in the conclusion of Logan, prompting queries on his resurrection for Deadpool 3. The answer, as one might expect, draws from Marvel's favored narrative device: the multiverse.
Helming the film is director Shawn Levy, who previously collaborated with Reynolds on Free Guy and The Adam Project. The roster of returning actors alongside Reynolds, Jackman, and Garner comprises Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Karan Soni as Dopinder, and Rob Delaney as Peter.
Set for release on May 4, 2024, Deadpool 3 is set to retain its mature R rating, delivering the distinct tone consistent with its predecessors, despite its current status as a Disney production.
